Growing up in the village of Inalåhan, some of my earliest memories are filled with things that, at the time, seemed so simple. Hanging out at our family beach on Sundays, playing outside with my cousins until the sun went down, and chasing chickens through the yard. As I got older, I realized those “little things” weren’t little at all. They were what made Guam home.
I created There’s No Place Like Guam to celebrate those moments and to share them with anyone who’s lucky enough to experience Guam, no matter how long they’re here. Maybe you came here for military service, contract work, travel nursing, or a quick visit. Maybe you fell in love with the island and decided to stay. However you ended up here, I believe Guam has something beautiful to offer you.
From village fiestas and small businesses to natural wonders, historical sites, and everyday island life. I’ll share my favorite hidden gems, cultural insights, personal stories, and local recommendations. More than anything, I’ll reflect on the simple joys that make life here feel like paradise.
Whether you’re looking for things to do in Guam, travel tips, a glimpse of local culture, or just want to see the island through a different lens, this blog is for you. My hope is that There’s No Place Like Guam becomes a space where you feel connected to the heart of the island, wherever you are on your journey.
We’re so lucky to be here. And the more we slow down and notice the beauty in the everyday, the more we understand just how special this place really is.
Because no matter where life takes us, there’s truly no place like Guam.
